Dogs and best friends
I love when my friends (and strangers alike) commission me to create portraits of their fur-children. So, backstory: I have two great friends that each have an adorable cocker-poo (cock-a-poo?). I started by creating a pet portrait for one of the friend's birthday presents back in November. The other friend (who is also a roommate) immediately asked me to create an identical portrait of her cocker-poo to match, that they could both display in the entrance way of their new townhouse. I was extremely flattered and got right to work. Since I had already accomplished one cocker-poo portrait, I knew the second one would be a breeze. I was able to work more quickly and detailed for an even better result than the first portrait. Another great part of creating art for friends is that you have the ability to see your artwork in person whenever you go to your friend's house and you know they are proud of your piece when it is on display in the entrance way of their home. I really enjoyed tackling these fantastic beasts and hope to be asked to create more fur portraits in the near future.
